GETTING CONNECTED
I am often in and out of sessions throughout the day and may miss your call. Please leave a voicemail, text or send me an e-mail and I will get back to you within 1-2 business days.
WHAT TO EXPECT FOR THE CONSULTATION
This is an opportunity to share some of your current challenges, what brings you to therapy, and how you’re hoping I will be able to help. I encourage you to ask any questions you might have and share any concerns about beginning a therapeutic relationship. At the end of our call, if you feel that I’m a good fit for your needs, we will book an intake session and I will send you a link to office policies and consent forms.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE FIRST SESSION
For the first 5-10 minutes we will review informed consent policies and how I run my practice, and ensure all of your questions and concerns are addressed! The rest of session is spent gathering background information on different areas of your life, getting to know you better, and for you to continue feeling out if I’m still the right therapist for you and if we are a good match.
FOLLOW UP SESSIONS
This is where our ongoing work begins to unfold. In these sessions, we’ll continue exploring what’s coming up for you; whether that’s processing emotions, understanding patterns, or just making sense of life. Sometimes sessions are focused and structured, and other times they’re more open and conversational. There might be days when you need to vent, reflect, or just feel heard and that’s okay. Whether we’re diving deep into a topic, learning new tools, or simply checking in with how you’re doing, each session is tailored to meet you where you are. Over time, we’ll find a rhythm that feels natural and supportive for you. Depending on what you prefer, I can take on a more structured approach, let you do most of the talking, or a balance of each. Usually, after the first couple of sessions my clients feel more comfortable and get into a groove that works for them.
